📢 The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation comes into force on 12 August 2026. Is your packaging ready?
The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation is now in effect. UK brands selling into Europe need to know whether every piece of packaging they place on the EU market will comply from day one.
The PPWR introduces new requirements covering packaging materials, empty space, restricted substances and compliance documentation - including a formal Declaration of Conformity for each packaging type.

Lewis Collantine is a specialist in consumer product safety and advises brands launching products in the UK and EU markets. He has 16+ years of experience, both in the private sector, leading product compliance at TK Maxx (part of TJX Companies Inc.) in Europe, and in the public sector, working for the UK regulator, Trading Standards. Lewis is also one of the UK's Lead Officers for Product Safety by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute. This means he is one of the go-to experts on product safety for trading standards professionals, as well as responding to Government consultations on new legislation.
