Testing Plan
A Testing Plan is a critical strategic document that maps out exactly how a manufacturer will verify their machinery against EU regulations. Before booking expensive time at Accredited Laboratories, engineers must define what needs to be tested and why. This plan is derived directly from the Risk Assessment, translating identified hazards into specific verification activities.
The plan identifies the applicable Harmonized Standards and specifies the required tests, such as EMC Testing for noise immunity or earth bond tests for electrical safety. It determines whether System-Level Testing is required at the factory or if components can be validated individually. This roadmap ensures that no critical check is missed while preventing unnecessary testing of compliant parts.
For North American exporters, a well-structured Testing Plan is not just a schedule; it is a vital piece of the Technical File. It demonstrates to authorities that your compliance approach was methodical and comprehensive, rather than a chaotic collection of random data points.
